Sun Counrty Raft Tours
Dennis Oliphant founded Sun Country Raft Tours in 1978. For 30 years, he has enjoyed river running, and for twenty-eight years he has been a professional guide and outfitter. From the beginning he has had one mission for Sun Country Tours:
- As professionals in whitewater rafting adventure, our quest is to have the finest river outfitting company possible, whether judged by our guests or by our peers in the industry.
The mission has taken Sun Country Raft Tours from its humble beginnings of a business run out of a garage to being one of the largest and most respected companies in the Northwest. When you come on a whitewater trip with Sun Country Raft Tours, you'll be treated with the same hospitality and care as our first guests who enjoyed the rivers with us over 25 years ago!
As Sun Country Raft Tours has grown, so has Dennis' involvement with the recreation industry and community. Dennis serves on the Boards of the Oregon Guides and Packers Association, Central Oregon Visitors Association and America Outdoors: the National Organization of Outfitters and Guides. He is a member of the Central Oregon Environmental Center, the Deschutes Provincial Advisory Committee, and the Chambers of Commerce of Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Sunriver and Portland, Oregon. Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science in Health, P. E. and Recreation with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Oregon.
