What happens after Guide School?
At the end of guide school we will extend offers of scheduled employment to our top candidates. Very often we have more high caliber candidates then we do positions. If you are not offered a schedule we are NOT saying we don't want you to continue training with us, it just means we are not able to offer you a schedule at this time.
We do a great job providing a foundation of skills to build upon during guide school but becoming a guide will require an additional commitment of time and training before trainees are ready to take guests safely down the river.
We welcome and encourage all those that attend guide to continue training with us and get checked out on our runs. Often a couple guides that had planned on returning have last minute changes in plans which creates additional openings. Those that have continued training have the best opportunity to fill an unexpected opening.
