Sisters, Oregon

Named after the three enormous mountains that dominate the landscape around it, Sisters, Oregon is nestled in a beautiful forest of towering pine trees in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Other amazing sights around the town include Black Butte and Mt. Jefferson. With a population of around 1700 living within the city limits, Sisters is a friendly town with many opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Sisters was founded in the late 1800's as a military outpost and eventually grew into a thriving civilian town. Today, Sisters contains an active population who provide a great flare for this little town. Sisters is situated relatively close to the Dechutes and McKenzie Rivers, providing easy access to exciting stretches of rapids for amazing whitewater rafting tours. Resorts, such as Black Butte Ranch, take advantage of the natural beauty and close proximity to the town.

Sun Country Tours has been providing raft tours out of Bend, Oregon, which is close to Sisters, since 1978. Many tours pick up at Black Butte Ranch, and some pick up at the Redmond Safeway (closer to Sisters than Bend), providing for a convenient, exhilarating trip.
