Sun Country Foundation - A "Day for the River" Fundraiser for the Deschutes River Conservancy
Join the Deschutes Resource Conservancy and Sun Country
Raft Tours September 15th for discounted raft trips. All
proceeds will benefit DRC whose mission is to, "
Restore streamflow and improve water quality in the Deschutes
Basin".
Big Eddy Thriller - Enjoy a family fun
rafting trip. The Big Eddy is a whitewater rafting trip on a
three-mile stretch of the Upper Deschutes River near Bend.
The cost for this event is $25 per person. All of the
proceeds from this event will be donated to the DRC to
benefit the work of the organization. Event Date and

All Day Adventure on the Lower Deschutes - Enjoy a full day of white water rafting on the magnificent Lower Deschutes River. This High Desert Classic is one you do not want to miss! The Deschutes River near Maupin Oregon provides outdoor adventure with a natural paradise for splashing, sunning, exhilarating paddling and just plain relaxing. With 13 miles of river before you, you will be challenged by many exciting rapids and enjoy many peaceful quiet stretches. The cost for this event is $65 per person. Contest Results
Our SCRT e-newsletter friends were asked to answer the question; What is the origin of the river named, "Deschutes". Our judges decided in fact there were two correct answers. 1. Lava Lake, the headwaters of the Deschutes. 2. The name origin of the name Deschutes which was derived from the French words; Des Chutes or many falls. Correct answers were put into a hat and drawn for an All Day Raft Trip for Two. Congratulation to Shaunette Bozarth!!
